 ICCP for Wind Turbine 16 July 2010 To design an impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) system for a bare steel tripod support structure for a wind trubine that is submersed in seawater with the legs being anchored in mud, international standards must be applied. Together with our in-house experience a suitable ICCP system for the required lifetime was designed.
The ICCP system design can be verified as following:
- Performance testing at sight.
- By numerical computer simulations.

 Second geothermal project for Huisman’s LOC 400 drilling rig 15 July 2010 Huisman's land drilling rig, the LOC 400, operated by the Northern Dutch Drilling Company (NDDC) has recently started its second geothermal drilling project. This time in the city of The Hague, The Nethelands. The compact and containerise unit will be used for the drilling scope of the project which ultimately will provide 4,000 homes and 20,000 square feet of office space with hot water for heating purposes and hot tap water. The project is a collaboration (under the name of Aardwarmte Den Haag) of the city of The Hague, energy companies Eneco and E.ON Benelux and housing corporations Staedion, Vestia and Haag Wonen. The selection of the LOC 400 for one of the first renewable heating initiatives at this scale in The Netherlands shows that Huisman's drilling rig is living up to its expectation of being an efficient, safe and environmental friednly alternative to conventional drilling rigs.

 Winteb Introduces Heated Air Vent Head 14 July 2010 Winteb developed a heated version of their standerd, type approved, air vent heads. The purpose of these heated vent heads is to avoid any ice forming on the vents when sailing in freezing conditions. There are two versions of the heated vent head: an automatic and a manual operated system.

 Winteb Receives Orders from Nevsky Shipbuilding Russia 14 July 2010 Winteb VOF, well known producer of aluminium air-pipe-heads, has just got the order from Nevsky Shipbuilding in Russia for three shipsets de-icing system for the WIN-2000 air-pipeheads. The ships will sail in artic conditions till minus 40 degrees centigrade. Class: Russian Register of Shipping.
